I assume that my first plane flight was pretty great, but being just a weeeee little baby, I don’t recall. My first travel memories are family road trips and summer vacations around the US, Canada, and Mexico - complete with rest stops, sibling rivalry, and weird sunburn lines.

After my first few trips abroad, I was so smitten with Europe that I renamed my student checking account Airfare to London. Foreshadowing, much?

Since then I’ve traveled 15% of the world (and 4/7 continents) but I always come back to Europe.

In 2016, when this blog was just a weeeee little baby, my husband and I decided to go all-in on the freelance life and spend three months traveling through Europe and working on our laptops into the night.

Instead of curing European wanderlust, that summer abroad just fanned the flame; the more often I can get back, the longer I can stay, the better.  

I know all too well the feeling of dreaming up a getaway for myself, then being overrun with decisions when I’m trying to bring it into reality.

Which city to visit? What’s worth a splurge, and what’s not? Is this reviewer right or ridiculous? And no one wants to feel like they wasted their precious vacation days.

The truth is it’s about 4873x easier to plan a trip somewhere when you’ve been there before. That firsthand experience of a place makes you feel like now you know how to do it right. 

My first trip to Paris was wonderful, truly -  but my second trip felt like I lived there, and my third trip was ten straight days of 😍.
