Dublin: The Cake Café
In honor of St. Patrick's Day, let me take you back to one of my favorite spots in Dublin: The Cake Café.
This cozy little cafe is nestled between an empty alley and a beautiful stationery shop, hidden from view of the street. Just finding the place is part of the adventure and it is completely worth the hunt.
Everything from the branding design and tile floor to the printed tablecloths and mismatched china patterns had me smitten. It's so full of charm, personality and the general sweetness of people doing what they love and doing it well. And the patio is something magical - if you're lucky enough to be there when it's not raining.
We weren't so lucky with the weather, but I'd love to return for a brunch or dinner outside. If I lived in Dublin, I would be a regular. I did pick up a few of their tea towels as gifts and couldn't resist keeping one for myself as a souvenir.
Certainly go for prosecco and cake, but don't overlook the savory dishes on the menu - our lunch was incredibly delicious. And do not miss the bread! Everything is freshly made and sourced from local-as-possible Irish producers... in case you need another reason to visit.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
