This weekend, we made french onion soup, picked out a new fall candle, and watched You’ve Got Mail to officially welcome autumn. And in New York, it’s so beautiful that I couldn’t bring myself to choose between the two photos above. Of course you already know plenty of my NYC favorites, but here are the things on my list this season:
Visit the New York Botanical Garden for Giant Pumpkin weekend, October 26-27.
See the Pierre Cardin exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum.
When the leaves have really turned, buy fresh-baked cookies from Levain Bakery and walk through Central Park.
Finally stop by Felix Roasting Co. for one of their exquisite coffees.
Take in the new Warhol installation and live music at the Gramercy Hotel Rose Bar.
Spend an evening at Special Club (reservation already booked!)
One Saturday morning before the neighborhood wakes up, wander through the West Village to see all the changing leaves and fall decorations.
Have dinner (read: pasta) in the garden at Palma before it’s covered for winter.
Hope that a spot opens up for Dominique Ansel’s Pie Night – I’m on the waitlist!
Rent a rowboat in Central Park.
Visit some usually-private buildings that are open to the public during Open House New York, October 18-20.
