Ever since we got a glimpse into Kate and Andy Spade's home several years ago, my coffee table goals were set: simple, and neatly stacked with a near-ridiculous number of coffee table books. As I've been building up my collection, I find that the best books are those both beautiful (inside and out) and truly interesting to page through or read for a while. These are my current favorites: some that I own, some on my wishlist.

Art

"Art is the Highest Form of Hope" & Other Quotes by Artists
a new addition that I can't stop reading.

Slim Aarons: Women
an artfully composed glimpse into some glamorous lives.

Warhol by Galella
a diary of Andy Warhol's life as captured by pioneer paparazzo Ron Galella.

Redouté: Most Beautiful Flowers
I can never have enough botanical prints, and these are stunning - and huge.

Conde Nast Traveler Photographs
a 25th anniversary collection of photos from all over the world, with a chic yellow cover.

Fashion

The Little Dictionary of Fashion
a stylish guide to having style, written by Christian Dior in 1954.

Alexander McQueen
an exploration of the creative world & collections of the darkly romantic designer.

Dressing for the Dark
an intricate study of and guide to eveningwear, by stylist Kate Young.

Love x Style x Life
highly readable ideas & inspiration from French fashion illustrator Garance Doré.

Dior Glamour: 1952-1962
perhaps the golden age of the iconic house: Christian Dior's final years, and collections by a young Yves Saint Laurent.

Interiors

The Perfectly Imperfect Home
a collection of organized decorating advice & ultra-charming illustrations.

Elements of Style
between the striped binding and Erin Gates' great taste, it's no wonder this book is a living room staple.

Domino: The Book of Decorating
someday I'll have actual chinoiserie wallpaper panels. until then, I'll have this cover in de Gournay's "Portobello" pattern. There's a sister book, too!

Beautiful: All-American Decorating and Timeless Style
blue & white forever, by Mark D. Sikes.

Scalamandré Haute Décor
the famous zebra pattern is also on my wallpaper bucket list, and this book is full of sumptuous rooms.
